I'm very glad to meet my all the teachers and classmates in Glamorgan.

The best wishes for all of you.

Jeanette thanks for you let me know something about UK. Have a nice holidays.

Different education between UK and China

Education in China and the United Kingdom is mainly reflected differences in the university's system.

In China, we need studying four years, but in UK, just three years. If you wanna studying master, in China, we need three years, in UK just one year. That means we  learning all the knowledges in three years from China, we need learning in UK spend one year. I think that's why Chinese students studying in UK feeling difficult.

China and Britain are also in teaching methods are very different. In China, totally is teacher told students what is point, what is question we will meeting at exam. The British students studying entirely on their own, you need a lot of time reading different books in the library. That is why most Chinese students learning ability is not high.

In marking the two countries have different. In China, you just pass or fail. And in UK, you can pass ,but have different pass level.

Government

The Government is led by the Prime Minister, who selects the other members of the Government. The Prime Minister and the other most senior Ministers belong to the supreme decision-making committee, known as the Cabinet
Under the UK constitution, executive authority lies with the monarch. This authority is exercised only by, or on the advice of, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet. The Cabinet members advise the monarch as members of the Privy Council. They also exercise power directly as leaders of the Government Departments.
The Government Ministers are usually all members of Parliament, and are accountable to it. The Government is dependent on Parliament to make primary laws, The monarch selects the Prime Minister as the leader of the party most likely to command a majority in Parliament
The British Parliament utilises the Westminster System, a parliamentary democracy which remains to this day the most widely used system of politics in the world. Most nations that practice the Westminster System are Commonwealths or former Commonwealths of the Commonwealth of Nations

I think this year the government made a wrong decision, that is Icrease tuition fees. Last week so many students held a large demonstration, finally they conflict with policeman. Its so terrible. I think the government need whats the problem in this roit. Maybe they need reconsider this foolish decision.

Parliament

The Parliament of the United Kingdom is the supreme legislative body in theUnited Kingdom and British overseas territories. Parliament alone possesses legislative supremacy and thereby ultimate power over all other political bodies in the UK and its territories. At its head is the SovereignQueen Elizabeth II.

The Gunpowder Plot

The Gunpowder Plot of 1605, in earlier centuries often called the Gunpowder Treason Plot, was a failed assassination attempt against King James I of England and VI of Scotland by a group of provincial English Catholics led by Sir Robert Catesby.
The plan was to blow up the House of Lords during the State Opening of Parliament on 5 November 1605, as the prelude to a popular revolt in the Midlands during which James's nine-year-old daughter, Princess Elizabeth, was to be installed as the Catholic head of state.
Although anti-Catholic legislation was introduced soon after the plot's discovery, many important and loyal Catholics retained high office during King James I's reign. The thwarting of the Gunpowder Plot was commemorated for many years afterwards by special sermons and other public events such as the ringing of church bells, which have evolved into the Bonfire Night of today.

Halloween

October 31 each year is traditionally a festival of Halloween Eve, children will be put on make-up evening clothes, put on a mask, door to door collection of candy. Festival is mainly popular in the English sector, followed bu Australia and New Zealand.

In UK, every place has its own characteristics, and has own activities. But pumplin is representative of Halloween. Two apples or nuts, on behalf of a pair of lovers, all side by side on the side of the fire. If they are in the south of England, "popular music and flying," love is real, but if they burn together, the couple will be partly. In northern England and Scotland exactly the reverse is predicted.

In addition, Scotland has small objects hidden in the potato champit tatties bowl foreseen in the coming year will bring. A spoonful of each individual, their fate is the charm in them show up

Britain joined the European Union have six advantage: Firstly, the possibility of increased specialization. To achieve economics od scale, that economy brings the EU companies in the international market to complete more effectively.
Secondly, in a larger market, greater competition to produce greater efficiency.
Thirdly, the EU countries to enjoy economies of scale and increased competition, it can produce faster growth.
Fourth, there are important political interests.
Fifth, the UK is the European Union, and a stable political background, it can attract investment, especially the US and Japan.
Sixth, it can the poorer of EU regions or the world's least developed countries to help.

While the disadvantages are direct contribution to the EU budget, the Common agricultural policy duo to rising food prices, the increased cost of manufacturing goods, services lack of competitiveness, and cumbersome procedures.

Princess Margaret

She was the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II and the younger daughter of King George VI and his wife Queen Elizabeth.

During World War II, the two sisters stayed at Windsor, despite government pressure to evacuate to Canada. During the war years, Margaret was not expected to perform any public or official duties, and instead continued her education. After the war, she fell in love with a divorced older man, Group Captain Peter Townsend, her father's equerry. Her father died at around the same time, and her sister became Queen. Many in the government felt that Townsend was an unsuitable husband for the Queen's sister, and the Church of England refused to countenance the marriage. Under pressure, Margaret chose to abandon her plans, and instead accepted the proposal of the photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, who was created Earl of Snowdon by Elizabeth II. The marriage, despite an auspicious start, soon became unhappy.

Margaret died at Hospital, London, on 9 February 2002. After a private funeral, her body was cremated. Two months later, after the death of her mother, Margaret's ashes were interred beside the bodies of her parents in the George VI Memorial Chapel at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
